The structure of the "simple past" (Past Simple Tense) in English is:
[SUBJECT] + [VERB IN PAST, TERMINATION "-ed"]
Example:
I worked
You worked

1.1 Construction of the past
As a general rule, to form the past in English, "-ed" is added to a verb.
Work = Worked
1.2 Irregular Verbs
For irregular verbs you have to memorize their past form.
Example:
To go went
To buy bought
To have had tener
To be was/were
1.3 Verbs ending in -e
To form the past, the final "-e" is replaced by "-ed".
Use = Used
Die = Died
